Employment & Training

Employment is a vital step toward economic self-sufficiency for many adults and their families. PEC’s Center for Employment and Training (CET) assits adults with their transition from welfare to work, often offering an on-ramp to the employment sector for the first time.

The Center for Employment and Training provides the following services and assistance:

 • Job readiness sessions focus on workplace culture, decision-making, conflict resolution, and stress-management lessons geared specifically for women with no work experience.

• Training and certification is available for entry-level positions in housekeeping, residential assistants, office administration and customer service. 

• Job placement opportunities are available with area employers.

• Employment case management assists participants with developing resumes, job search, interviewing and access to work supports.
