PEC programs are supported by a diverse combination of public and private sources. PEC receives major public funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Philadelphia Department of Human Services, the Office of Emergency Shelter and Services, and the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare. PEC receives foundation support from the Pew Charitable Trust, Rena Rowan Foundation for the Homeless, the Jean F. Block Foundation, the Claneil Foundation, Independence Foundation, and many smaller family foundations. We receive regular corporate contributions from Citizens Bank, Lincoln Financial, State Farm Insurance Companies, and Wachovia, among others. Finally, PEC enjoys the loyal support of many faith-based organizations and individuals. We continually research and seek out other funding opportunities from other corporations and foundations, such as Verizon, 1675 Foundation, and the Helen Brach Foundation.
PEC is a United Way Community Impact Partner in good standing. Although we are proud that our highly effective programs have attracted significant support from such an array of funders, we must seek additional contributions from other private sources and individuals in order to assure that families receive the supports they need to overcome homelessness.
